Asian Bumblebee Catfish is Pseudomystus siamensis, a bold barred bagrid catfish from the lower Mekong region. The supplier synonym Leiocassis siamensis and the old common wording "Eight Barbels Loach" can appear in the trade, but this is a nocturnal catfish, not a loach.
It suits keepers who want a characterful sheltering catfish for a spacious aquarium. It is generally workable with robust fish too large to swallow, but it is a predator after dark and should not be mixed with small community fish or shrimp.
Provide caves, wood tangles, shaded retreats and a soft open feeding area. Good filtration matters because carnivorous catfish are messy feeders. Keep lighting subdued or provide dark refuges so the fish can settle naturally during the day.
