Dwarf shrimp need mature, stable aquarium conditions; filter-feeding shrimp need suitable food delivery, and land or semi-terrestrial crabs need an appropriate enclosure. Test aquarium water and check treatments for invertebrate suitability before use. A shrimp label does not make every offer an easy community choice.
Compare the current selected size, sale unit and price on each listing. Colour strains and named grades are separate offers; a higher price does not establish better health or easier care. Check the selected option’s availability and budget for the required housing, food and appropriate group.
There is no single starting number for shrimp, prawns, crayfish and crabs. Follow the named animal’s social and space guidance and check whether the offer supplies one animal or a stated group. A quantity discount is not a group declaration, and a small purchase does not replace planning for adult size or offspring.
Assess the exact fish and crustacean together for adult size, water, feeding and predation. Different colour lines of the same Neocaridina species can interbreed, and offspring may lose the pattern or colour you chose. That is not a predictable timetable for every line. Keep separately identified lines if maintaining them matters, and confirm the identity where the offer is labelled only Neocaridina sp.
Prepare the correct habitat and food before ordering, then confirm the animal, selected size and sale unit. Do not assume a shrimp or crab will tolerate unsuitable transport or an unprepared enclosure.
Grades usually describe the breeder’s colour or pattern selection, but schemes differ between lines and sellers. You can consider a mixed-colour display after checking the animals’ identities and care needs. If the same species breeds, its colour lines may intermix. Different genera or a shared colour do not prove compatible water or housing: compare the exact listings before combining Neocaridina, bee shrimp or Sulawesi shrimp.
