We stock Neocaridina cherry-type shrimp in every colour, Caridina bee and Taiwan bee shrimp, Amano shrimp and more, with new stock landing most weeks. Neocaridina (cherry, blue, yellow, orange rili and other colour lines) suit most community and planted tanks; Caridina lines such as crystal red and taiwan bee need softer, cooler, more stable water.

Frequently asked questions
Not once the tank is right — but they are less forgiving than fish of unstable or new water. Aquarium shrimp need a mature, fully cycled tank with stable parameters and no copper (check that any fish medication or tap treatment is shrimp-safe). Get the tank stable first, add shrimp second, and they are very rewarding.
Standard cherry and Neocaridina shrimp start at about £4 each, higher-grade colour strains and Caridina bee shrimp run £8-£25, and rare Taiwan bee lines more. They are usually bought in starter groups of ten or more. Prices on this page are live: what you see is what's in stock today.
Start with at least 10. Shrimp are social grazers that breed readily, and a small founding colony establishes far better than a handful. From ten healthy Neocaridina in a stable planted tank, you can expect a self-sustaining population within a few months.
Adult shrimp can live with small, peaceful fish, but almost any fish will eat baby shrimp, so a mixed tank rarely lets a colony grow. For maximum breeding, keep shrimp in a species-only tank. If you want both, add dense moss and plants so some shrimplets survive to adulthood.
Different colour strains of the same species (for example cherry, yellow and blue Neocaridina) will interbreed, and their offspring revert to a dull wild brown within a couple of generations. To keep vivid colour, keep one Neocaridina colour per tank. Different species (Neocaridina and Caridina) generally don't crossbreed, but have different water needs.

Grades describe colour coverage and intensity, not health. In Neocaridina the red line runs roughly cherry, sakura, fire red then painted fire red as the red becomes solid across the body and legs; in Caridina crystal reds the S, SS and SSS grades describe how much white covers the shell. A higher grade costs more because the colour is more consistent, but care is identical within a species.
You can, but they are all the same species and will interbreed, and mixed offspring drift back towards the wild brownish form within a few generations. If you want to keep a colour line true, keep one colour per tank. Neocaridina and Caridina are different species and do not interbreed, so a cherry and a crystal red can share a tank if the water suits both.
