Prices vary by strain, size, sale unit and current availability. Use the live product cards for the current price, and do not assume that a quantity of two or three is a matched or sexed group unless the exact listing says so.
Lifespan varies with genetics, strain, water quality, diet and other husbandry, so a collection page cannot promise an exact age. Use the care guide as a planning reference and focus on stable, suitable conditions for the individual fish.
Guppies are tropical fish. Use a thermostatically controlled heater where room conditions cannot hold the species-appropriate range; heater wattage depends on aquarium volume, room temperature and equipment guidance rather than one fixed value.
Buy a stated sex only when the exact listing confirms it. For mixed groups, OATA suggests two females per male to reduce pressure on one female, but no ratio removes the need for space, cover and observation. Same-sex groups avoid new mixed-sex mating but males may still display or chase, so keep a separation plan.
Guppies are livebearers and mixed-sex groups can reproduce readily; females may also have mated before purchase. Plan for fry and rehoming before mixing sexes, and confirm the sex and sale unit on the exact listing.

The guppy (Poecilia reticulata) originates in north-eastern South America and nearby Caribbean islands and has been introduced widely elsewhere. It is a livebearer, and selective breeding has produced the many fancy colours and fin forms seen in aquariums.
There is no single safe number for every 60-litre aquarium. Tank length, filtration, water conditions, existing livestock, sex mix and a plan for fry all matter. Use the guppy care guide and ask us about your actual setup before choosing a group.
