Before you choose from this collection

Every gourami and labyrinth fish on this page is a live fish held in our own system before dispatch — not a stock photo. We stock honey, dwarf, pearl and three-spot gouramis, croaking and sparkling gouramis, paradise fish and bettas, with new stock landing most weeks.

These fish ship in oxygen-charged bags inside an insulated box, dispatched Wednesday for Thursday delivery with a licensed live-animal courier so your fish never sits over a weekend. Every order carries our live arrival guarantee: email clear photos and your order number the same day; an unboxing video is optional. Approved claims are refunded or replaced under the guarantee.

Labyrinth fish have an accessory breathing organ that lets them gulp air from the surface, so they cope with lower-oxygen water than most fish. Many are peaceful and colourful, though some males are territorial. Read the care guides linked below before ordering to pick species that suit your tank and each other.

Frequently asked questions

A labyrinth fish has a special organ — the labyrinth — that lets it breathe air straight from the surface, on top of using its gills. Gouramis, bettas and paradise fish all share it. It is an adaptation to warm, still, low-oxygen water, and it is why you'll see these fish taking gulps at the surface.
Three-spot and pearl gouramis are among the least expensive, honey and dwarf gouramis usually cost a little more, and rarer or larger specimens more again. Bettas, also on this page, range from inexpensive mixed females and veiltails to premium show males. Prices on this page are live: what you see is what's in stock today.
Mostly — honey and pearl gouramis are gentle and community-safe. Dwarf gouramis are peaceful but males can squabble, so keep one male per tank. Three-spot and larger gouramis can be pushy. As a rule, one male gourami of a given species per tank avoids most of the aggression.
The honey gourami is an excellent first labyrinth fish — small, peaceful, hardy and beautifully coloured, happy in a 40 litre-plus tank. Pearl gouramis are also forgiving and stunning. Avoid keeping multiple male dwarf gouramis together, which is where beginners usually run into fighting.
It is risky. Bettas and gouramis are related labyrinth fish and can see each other as rivals, especially in a smaller tank. It sometimes works in a large, well-planted aquarium with plenty of sight breaks, but there is no guarantee. If you want a betta as a centrepiece, a betta-only or carefully chosen community tank is safer.
Yes. Their labyrinth organ actually makes them hardy shippers. Each order travels in oxygen-charged bags inside a polystyrene-insulated box with a heat pack in winter, handed to a licensed live-animal courier, dispatched Wednesday for Thursday delivery so it never sits over a weekend. Every delivery is covered by our live arrival guarantee. To claim, email your order number and clear photos on the day your order arrives. An unboxing video is optional.
