Before you choose from this collection

Freshwater angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) reach about 15 cm long and taller still in fin span, live around 10 years and need a tall tank at 24-30°C: at least 100-120 litres with 45 cm of height for a pair, 200 litres or more for a group of five or six. Young marble and dalmatian angels are among the least expensive, named colour forms usually cost more and wild-type Rio Nanay fish more again; every listing below shows its current price and is live stock with our Live Arrival Guarantee.

Live freshwater angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) bred for colour and finnage — marble, platinum white, ghost, dalmatian, zebra smoke and koi-type strains, alongside wild-caught Rio Nanay and Peruvian altum-type fish when imports land. Every listing below is an individual fish or line we actually hold, with its size stated.

Angelfish are cichlids: graceful, intelligent and mildly territorial as they mature. Plan a tall tank of 120 litres or more at 24-30°C, and buy a small group young if you want a bonded pair. Each order travels in oxygen-charged bags inside an insulated box and is covered by our live arrival guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Angelfish are priced by strain and size: young domestic strains like marble and dalmatian are among the least expensive, most named colour forms cost more, and wild-type Rio Nanay or Peruvian altum-type angels more again, rising with size. Each listing shows its current price and the size supplied. Prices below are live stock — what's shown is what's in the fish house.
A full-grown angelfish reaches about 15 cm in body length but stands much taller fin-tip to fin-tip, which is why they need a tall tank — 120 litres or more. They're a long commitment too: a well-kept angelfish lives around 10 years.
With the right tank mates, yes. They're semi-aggressive cichlids: peaceful alongside medium-sized fish like corydoras, larger tetras and gouramis, but adults will eat neon-sized fish, and long fins tempt nippers like tiger barbs. Skip both and they're an elegant community centrepiece.
Either one as a standalone centrepiece, or a group of five or six juveniles raised together so a compatible pair can form naturally. Buying two random adults is the worst option — without a bond, one usually bullies the other relentlessly.
Yes — Rio Nanay and Peruvian altum-type wild angelfish appear whenever our importer lands them, listed separately from tank-bred strains. Wild fish show natural silver-and-black barring and want softer, warmer water than domestic lines, so check the listing notes before ordering.
Freshwater angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare, family Cichlidae) are substrate spawners from the Amazon basin that pair off and defend a territory. A bonded pair cleans a vertical surface — a leaf, slate or filter pipe — and lays rows of eggs the male then fertilises. Both parents fan the eggs; the hatched 'wrigglers' hang by threads absorbing their yolk sac before becoming free-swimming fry. Good water quality and calm tank mates are the key to a pair raising a brood.
Plan on 100 litres with at least 45 cm of height for a pair of adult angelfish, and 200 litres or more for a group of five or six grown up together. Adults reach about 15 cm long and taller still in fin span, so height and calm water matter more than for most community fish.
