Origin & Natural Habitat

The Peruensis Angelfish originates from rivers in Peru. It is sometimes marketed as an Altum variant but is a distinct form that is hardier and more accessible than the true Altum (P. altum). It still displays the impressive tall body shape prized by angelfish enthusiasts.

Tank Setup & Water Parameters

Provide a minimum of 200 litres with a tall tank. Adults reach approximately 20 cm in height. Maintain water temperature between 26–30°C with a pH of 5.5–7.0 and hardness of 2–10 dGH. Include plants and driftwood for a natural feel.

Feeding Guide

The Peruensis Angelfish is an omnivore. Offer quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. A varied diet promotes good health and colouration. Feed twice daily.

Compatible Tank Mates

Good companions include large tetras, corydoras, and peaceful medium fish. Avoid fin nippers and very small fish. You might also consider species such as Platinum White Angelfish, Smoke Angelfish, and Dalmatin Angelfish from our collection.
