Maintain these water conditions for optimal health and vibrant colors
Blue Diamond Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) is a selectively bred blue colour form of Neocaridina davidi. Older trade data may say Neocaridina heteropoda, but current taxonomy treats that as old naming for the same shrimp group.
Use a cycled planted aquarium with moss, leaf litter, biofilm surfaces and a sponge or covered filter intake. Stability matters more than chasing exact numbers, especially after water changes.
Blue Diamond Shrimp graze on biofilm, algae and leaf litter. Supplement lightly with shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables and powdered foods for young shrimp.
Best with snails, Otocinclus and tiny peaceful fish that will not hunt shrimp. Keep colour lines separate if you want to preserve the blue strain.
