Gold Ram Cichlid is the golden domestic colour form of Mikrogeophagus ramirezi. The current Shopify selector offers several approximate size grades from 2.5–4.5 cm. One quantity buys one unsexed fish in the selected size grade. The legacy title called this product a pair, but the live supplier SKUs are individual Gold Ram size grades and do not document a male/female or bonded pair.

This is a warm-water dwarf cichlid for mature, carefully maintained aquariums. Rams are small, but they are not ideal for a newly cycled tank or a cool general community. Stable heat, clean water, gentle filtration, soft substrate and access to suitable food matter more than the juvenile size at dispatch.

What aquarium setup works best?

Use fine sand with plants, wood, shaded cover and several smooth stones or sheltered areas. A mature biological filter should keep ammonia and nitrite at zero without creating a harsh current. Keep the water warm and stable; sudden cooling or chemistry swings can stress this species quickly.

For a community, choose peaceful fish that genuinely tolerate the same high temperature. Many common Corydoras and cooler-water tetras are poor matches if they must be kept permanently warmer than their own preferred range.

What should I feed a Gold Ram?

Offer a quality fine cichlid pellet or granule as the prepared staple, supported by frozen or live daphnia, cyclops, Artemia and bloodworm in modest portions. Make sure food reaches the lower territory; faster midwater fish can otherwise take the whole ration.
