Gunther's Zanzibar Gold Nothobranch (Nothobranchius guentheri)
20–26°C · pH 6–7.5 · 40L

A specialist annual killifish for mature, covered species aquariums. Best for experienced keepers who can provide small live or frozen foods and understand its short natural lifespan.
Adult size is the maximum length this species reaches at full maturity (scientific sources). The livestock you receive will be younger and smaller — pick a size variant above for the actual shipping size. Photos are AI-enhanced, so the animal may show subtle colour or marking differences.
Nothobranchius rachovii
Rachovi's Nothobranch Beira 98 Albino bond and breed in male/female pairs. Buying a pair gives them the social structure they need — and you get a better price per fish.

Rachovi's Nothobranch Beira 98 Albino (Nothobranchius rachovii) is a specialist annual killifish for aquarists who enjoy rare, seasonal species with vivid behaviour. The Beira 98 Albino form has a pale body, red eyes and delicate finnage, but it should be treated as a focused species project rather than a casual community fish.
In nature, Nothobranchius rachovii comes from temporary pools in Mozambique. Those pools dry out seasonally, so the fish grows quickly, matures early and has a naturally short adult life. In aquariums, the usual lifespan is measured in months rather than many years. That is not a fault; it is part of the biology of annual killifish.

Use a mature, covered aquarium with gentle filtration, shaded areas and fine-leaved plants or spawning mops. A pair or carefully planned trio is easier to manage than mixing this fish into a busy community aquarium. Keep water stable, avoid strong current and make sure every fish can feed without being chased away.
Rachovi's Nothobranch is a micropredator. It may learn to take prepared foods, but small frozen or live foods should be the main diet. Feed lightly and often, then remove uneaten food because small killifish tanks can spoil quickly.
Breeding is one of the main reasons keepers choose this species. Eggs are usually deposited in peat, coir or another suitable spawning medium, then incubated damp before being rewetted. Do not mix collection lines unless you know exactly what you are doing, because locality forms are best kept pure.
