Rachovi's Nothobranch Beira 98 Albino (Nothobranchius rachovii) is a specialist annual killifish for aquarists who enjoy rare, seasonal species with vivid behaviour. The Beira 98 Albino form has a pale body, red eyes and delicate finnage, but it should be treated as a focused species project rather than a casual community fish.
In nature, Nothobranchius rachovii comes from temporary pools in Mozambique. Those pools dry out seasonally, so the fish grows quickly, matures early and has a naturally short adult life. In aquariums, the usual lifespan is measured in months rather than many years. That is not a fault; it is part of the biology of annual killifish.
