Maintain these water conditions for optimal health and vibrant colors
Spotted Scat is a striking brackish oddball with bold spots, a deep body and active midwater behaviour. Juveniles are often seen in fresher water, but adult Scatophagus argus should be planned for hard, alkaline brackish conditions and a spacious aquarium.
Keep Spotted Scat with sturdy brackish companions such as archerfish, monos and other scats. Avoid small fish, delicate soft-water species and long-term freshwater-only setups. The old listing called it a freshwater option; this has been corrected.
