Never release outdoors
Several Corbicula species are invasive outside their native range, including established Asian clam populations in Britain. Keep this animal, its water and any offspring in a closed aquarium system and never release them into ponds, rivers, canals or drains connected to natural waters.

Use deliberate micro-feeding only in small measured amounts. Overfeeding can reduce oxygen and create an ammonia problem, while underfeeding can lead to gradual starvation. A dead clam can pollute a small aquarium quickly, so check any animal that remains gaping and unresponsive.
Compatibility
Choose peaceful fish and invertebrates that will not crush shells or constantly excavate the substrate. Avoid puffers, crayfish, large digging cichlids and other known mollusc predators. Do not use this clam as a substitute for filtration or maintenance.
