Nothobranchius korthausae is a small annual killifish from seasonal pools in coastal Tanzania. In the wild its pools dry out each year and the eggs survive in the mud until the rains return. Males are vividly coloured with patterned fins; females are smaller and plain brownish.

What you receive
One quantity is one live fish of about 2.5–3.5 cm, unsexed. Buy several if you want males and females; males are the colourful ones.
Aquarium and water
A mature, covered aquarium of 40 litres or more (60 litres preferred), with gentle filtration, plants and a soft substrate. Keep 23–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5 and 2–12 dGH. Annual killifish are short-lived, so plan for breeding if you want to keep the line going.
Feeding
A small predator: feed live or frozen foods such as bloodworm, Daphnia and brine shrimp; many fish also learn to take quality micro-pellets.
Tank mates and behaviour
Best kept in a species aquarium or with other small, calm fish. Males display and can squabble with each other; keep more females than males.
Follow the arrival sequence before releasing the fish

Someone must be at the address to receive the parcel because live animals cannot be left unattended.
- Receive the parcel in person and start filming before opening it. Show the parcel still sealed with the outer box visible.
- Open the parcel in one continuous take. Keep filming until the fish can be seen inside the sealed bag before anything is disturbed.
- Float the bag for 20–30 minutes so the temperature equalises slowly.
- Do not pour the bag water into the aquarium. Release the fish without adding transport water to the established system.

I have a small group of long finned mountain minnows. So was delighted to be able to order ten of this variety to increase the genetics in my tank . The ones I recieved are healthy but it’s to early to give a verdict on wether they are of a long finned type since they are small currently.
