Highlands Rainbowfish (Chilatherina campsi) is an active New Guinea rainbowfish for roomy planted community aquariums. The best display comes from a proper shoal, open swimming space and clean, stable water with enough minerals for rainbowfish comfort.
| Scientific name | Chilatherina campsi |
|---|---|
| Adult size | 10-12 cm |
| Minimum aquarium | 180 litres or larger |
| Temperature | 21-26 C |
| pH | 7.2-7.8 |
| Temperament | Peaceful, active shoaling fish for robust community aquariums |
| Diet | Omnivore; quality flakes, small pellets, frozen foods and occasional vegetable matter |
Use a mature aquarium with open midwater swimming room, planted edges and steady filtration. Highlands Rainbowfish are peaceful, but they are active and confident, so pair them with other robust community fish that enjoy similar water.
Keep a group of at least 6. Mixed-size groups look natural, and males show stronger colour when they can display without being crowded.
Offer quality flakes or small pellets as the staple, then rotate frozen foods such as daphnia, cyclops and brine shrimp. Small regular feeds keep the shoal active without overloading the aquarium.
Livestock orders are packed carefully and sent by licensed live-animal courier. The Live Arrival Guarantee applies when the receiving and acclimation instructions are followed.
