Corydoras paleatus belongs to the family Callichthyidae. This species is native to Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, where it inhabits river beds and slow-moving tributaries with sandy or muddy substrates.

Tank Setup & Water Parameters

A minimum tank size of 60 litres is recommended (6+ recommended; shoaling species). Maintain water temperature between 18.0–25.0°C with a pH of 6.0–7.5 and hardness of 2–15 dGH. One of the hardiest corys, tolerant of cool subtropical temperatures. Keep in groups of 6+ on sandy substrate.

Feeding Guide

Omnivore; sinking pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, algae wafers. Feed small portions 1–2 times daily, offering only as much as they can consume within a few minutes. A varied diet promotes optimal health and vibrant colouration.
