Before you choose from this collection

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) are coldwater fish: single-tails reach 20-30 cm, live 10-15 years and need a large, heavily filtered tank or a pond — never a bowl — with no heater but a strong filter. Common goldfish, fancies, orfe and small koi are priced here by variety and size, each listing showing its current price, all live stock sent by licensed live-animal courier with our Live Arrival Guarantee.

Every coldwater fish on this page is a live fish held in our own system before dispatch — not a stock photo. We stock fancy and comet goldfish, orfe, koi and other coldwater and pond species, with new stock landing most weeks.

Coldwater fish ship in oxygen-charged bags inside an insulated box, dispatched Wednesday for Thursday delivery with a licensed live-animal courier so your fish never sits over a weekend. Every order carries our live arrival guarantee: email clear photos and your order number the same day; an unboxing video is optional. Approved claims are refunded or replaced under the guarantee.

Coldwater fish don't need a heater, but they are not low-maintenance — goldfish grow large, live for years and are heavy waste producers. Read the notes linked below before ordering: the classic mistake is a small bowl, when what these fish actually need is a big, well-filtered tank or a pond.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — far bigger than most people expect. Goldfish grow large (single-tails can exceed 20-30 cm), live for many years and produce a lot of waste, so they need a spacious, heavily filtered tank or a pond. A bowl or nano tank is the leading cause of stunted, short-lived goldfish.
Common goldfish are the least expensive, with fancy varieties, orfe and small koi costing more, and premium show koi much higher. Remember the running costs are the tank or pond, filtration and food rather than the fish itself. Prices on this page are live: what you see is what's in stock today.
Properly kept, goldfish are long-lived — commonly 10-15 years and sometimes far longer in a pond. The short lifespans people associate with goldfish are almost always the result of bowls, overcrowding and poor filtration rather than anything natural about the fish.
Generally no. Goldfish are coldwater fish that prefer cooler temperatures than tropical species, and they produce far more waste. Mixing the two usually compromises one or the other. Keep goldfish in a dedicated coldwater tank or pond with other coldwater species.
Absolutely — arguably more than tropical fish, because goldfish are such heavy waste producers. 'Coldwater' means no heater required, not no equipment. A robust filter and regular water changes are essential to keep ammonia and nitrate under control in a goldfish tank or pond.
Yes. They are hardy travellers, shipped in oxygen-charged bags inside a polystyrene-insulated box, handed to a licensed live-animal courier, dispatched Wednesday for Thursday delivery so they never sit over a weekend. Every delivery is covered by our live arrival guarantee. To claim, email your order number and clear photos on the day your order arrives. An unboxing video is optional.
The goldfish (Carassius auratus) is a coldwater member of the carp family, domesticated from wild Asian carp over a thousand years ago. Single-tailed types — commons, comets and shubunkins — are powerful swimmers that reach 20-30 cm and are really pond fish; fancy twin-tailed varieties stay smaller but need pristine water. All goldfish are heavy waste producers that spawn by scattering eggs among plants in spring, so strong filtration and space matter far more than the bowl they are often sold for.
