Ghost Discus is the understated member of this batch: pale, clean and at its best against a darker aquascape where the subtle colour is easy to see. This is a domestic discus colour strain in the genus Symphysodon; the strain name stays in the customer-facing title, while the scientific anchor is Symphysodon spp. (domestic discus strain).
Its strength is restraint rather than loud markings, so it suits keepers building a calm discus display around contrast, open mid-water space and gentle companions. Expect a peaceful mid-water cichlid with expert-level needs: warm, stable water, careful acclimatisation, disciplined maintenance and a mature aquarium of at least 250 litres.
Tank mates should be quiet and warm-water tolerant: other peaceful discus, cardinal tetras, rummy-nose tetras, Corydoras, Otocinclus and gentle dwarf cichlids are safer choices than nippy, aggressive, coldwater or hard-water fish.
