A selectively bred hybrid variety derived from Lake Malawi Aulonocara species. The calico patterning is the result of selective breeding for multicoloured pigmentation. Maintains the same care requirements as wild-type Peacock cichlids. Maternal mouthbrooder.
Provide a minimum of 200 litres. Maintain water between 24–28°C with pH 7.5–8.5 and hardness 10–25 dGH. Provide sandy substrate for natural sand-sifting behaviour alongside rock formations for territory establishment.
Omnivore. Offer cichlid pellets, frozen brine shrimp, krill, and spirulina. A varied diet enhances the vibrant red and orange calico patterning.
