How big are the fry on arrival?

Endler fry are typically 5–10 mm on arrival. They are fully formed miniature fish that swim, feed, and behave like adults from birth. Despite their tiny size, they are hardy and easy to raise with appropriate food (crushed flakes or baby brine shrimp).

How long until the fry show their green colour?

Males begin showing the first hints of metallic green at around 4–6 weeks old. Full adult colouration develops by 2–3 months. Females remain olive-silver throughout life. A quality diet and good water conditions speed up colour development.

Will all 10 fry be the same sex?

No — the pack will contain a natural mix of males and females. Sex cannot be determined in very young fry. You can expect roughly half of each, giving you a balanced group for colony breeding once they mature.

Watch Them Grow

One of the most rewarding aspects of buying fry is watching them develop their adult colouration. Emerald Green Endler fry start as plain silver-olive juveniles.
