Arowanas & Arowana Knifefish

Australian Bonytongue is Scleropages jardinii; the Silver and Albino Silver offers are Osteoglossum bicirrhosum. The Blue Arowana is labelled Osteoglossum sp., so its colour name does not establish a species. Arowana Knifefish is Papyrocranus afer: compare its own swimming, shelter and feeding needs rather than treating it as another arowana colour.

A small supplied arowana can become a very large fish. Plan swimming length, turning room, secure cover, filtration and safe maintenance access before purchase. Ask what the exact fish is eating and assess companions for adult behaviour and predation risk. A future upgrade needs to be practical, not just an intention.
