Choose the adult enclosure before the juvenile
Silver arowanas can reach about a metre in length. Plan substantial swimming and turning space, secure cover, filtration and safe maintenance access before purchase. An aquarium that fits a juvenile today is not a long-term plan; make sure any future housing is practical and available.
Compare Osteoglossum arowanasBonytongues do not share one feeding recipe
Australian Scleropages, South American Osteoglossum and African Heterotis are different choices. Compare the exact fish’s diet and adult behaviour before arranging food or companions. Heterotis needs its own feeding assessment; it does not share every arowana’s diet. Similar shape or a shared family does not establish that fish can live together.
