Red Tomato Vampire Crab is a small, colourful Geosesarma crab for keepers who can provide a warm planted paludarium rather than a standard fully aquatic aquarium. This listing is for the red tomato form, supplied at around 2-3 cm, with the bright legs, alert behaviour and secretive dusk activity that make vampire crabs so interesting to watch.

|---|---|
| Supplied size | Approximately 2-3 cm |
| Adult size | Small crab, allow up to about 5 cm overall span |

| Temperament | Territorial, best in a species-focused paludarium |
| Diet | Omnivore: sinking invertebrate foods, leaf litter, vegetables and small frozen foods |
Red Tomato Vampire Crabs need a secure land-and-water enclosure. Build mostly land with damp substrate, moss, bark, roots, caves and leaf litter, plus a smaller shallow freshwater area that is easy to enter and leave. A tight lid is essential because these crabs climb well. Keep humidity high, avoid strong water flow and make sure the water section is mature and clean before the crabs arrive.
They are not suitable for a normal community fish tank. A paludarium with many broken sight lines gives each crab somewhere to retreat during feeding, moulting and social displays.
Offer tiny evening feeds. Good staples include sinking crab or shrimp foods, invertebrate wafers and small pieces of frozen bloodworm, daphnia or brine shrimp. Add leaf litter and occasional blanched vegetable so they can graze between meals. Remove uneaten meaty food quickly because shallow warm water fouls easily.
Species-only is the safest route. A small group can work when the enclosure is spacious and heavily furnished, but males may argue over hides. Avoid bettas, frogs, delicate shrimp, slow bottom fish and anything that could attack a moulting crab.
