The trade heading covers several named groups

This established Aphyosemion range also retains Fundulopanchax and the related Roloffia offer. The supplier lists Cap Esterias as A. australe; its older guide describes Gardner’s/Nsukka fish and cannot supply this offer’s care advice. Australe, Gardneri, Scheel’s and Sjoestedti names are not interchangeable. Compare the exact listing rather than applying one adult size or set of water conditions to every colourful killifish. Ask for the identity of the current fish when the trade name or population label is unclear.

Plan a covered aquarium where the fish can feed

Check the selected fish’s adult space, surface cover, companions and current foods. A quiet fish can miss meals beside faster feeders, while a larger killifish needs a different stocking assessment from a smaller lyretail. Secure the lid and openings before arrival. Check stated sex and quantity if you need a breeding group; a purchase of two does not establish a pair.

Use the selected population’s breeding method

If breeding is the aim, ask about the exact fish and population before choosing spawning material or an egg-incubation method. Do not transfer a dry-storage or seasonal breeding recipe between these different offers. Keep population labels meaningful when planning crosses, and confirm what the selected offer actually supplies rather than treating colour as proof of origin or line.
