About Tinfoil Barb (Barbonymus schwanefeldii)
Hi the tinfoil barbs are brilliant, thanks.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks David, glad they're doing well. Tinfoils are a fish people tend to underestimate - they get big, they're fast, and they're much happier in a group of five or six in a long tank than in a small huddle. Sounds like yours have landed somewhere they can stretch out. - Tropical Fish Co

A bit of a hiccup at the beginning of the order/delivery process but once that was sorted, very pleased.

About Albino Bronze Cory (Osteogaster aenea)
Love this little Cory. It's quite difficult to see in my tank but it's doing a great job of keeping the bottom of the tank nice and clean.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks Marianne - and yes, albinos have a habit of vanishing against a pale substrate. Worth knowing they're a shoaling fish: add two or three more and you'll actually see a lot more of him, because they get much bolder in a group and forage out in the open rather than hugging the edges. - Tropical Fish Co

About Tiger Barb (Puntigrus tetrazona)
Not such a good outcome with this fish. It died after 3 days.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Marianne, I'm sorry - losing a fish three days in is exactly what we work hard to avoid. Tiger Barbs are normally robust, so a loss that early usually points to transit stress rather than anything that was wrong with the fish long term. That's still ours to put right. Please email hello@tropicalfishco.co.uk with your order number, or WhatsApp +44 7464 593131, and we'll arrange a replacement on your next shipment. We also help with anything that shows up in the first 48 hours, so please don't hesitate next time. - Reza, Tropical Fish Co

About Elephant Ear Male Guppy (Poecilia reticulata)
Really enjoying watching this guppy. Very pleased with my purchase.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you Marianne. Elephant Ear guppies are a proper watch-and-enjoy fish - those pectorals carry on growing for a while yet, so he should look even better in a couple of months than he does now. - Tropical Fish Co

About Gold Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus)
Very impressed with this fish. It is doing really well.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks Marianne, glad this one settled well. Gold Gouramis are a bit calmer than most of the family and they really come into their own with some cover at the surface - floating plants or tall stems will bring him out and deepen the colour. - Tropical Fish Co

About White Cloud Mountain Minnows (Tanichthys albonubes)
Excellent service the fish arrived as promised and all in good health. I will certainly use this company again.
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you Jennifer, that's exactly how it's meant to go. White Clouds are a good pick too - they're happiest a little cooler than most tropicals and they show their best colour in a group of eight or more, so they're worth building up. We'll look forward to the next one. - Tropical Fish Co

About Neon Green Rasbora (Microdevario kubotai)
these fish have grown quickly and coloured up very well now being a bright medium green and are very active
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Great to hear George. Kubotai rasboras ship as fairly plain little things and only green up properly once they're settled and shoaling confidently, so what you're describing is exactly the way they should go. They'll keep improving for a few months yet. - Tropical Fish Co

About Sunset Variatus Platy (Xiphophorus variatus)
these fish settled in after one day and are doing very well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you George. Settling inside a day is exactly what we want to hear - it usually means the acclimation went right at your end as much as the packing did at ours. Variatus platies are hardy and they'll breed readily if you have both sexes in there, so keep an eye out for fry hiding in the plants. - Tropical Fish Co

About Emerald Dwarf Danio (Danio erythromicron)
these fish have grown quickly and seam very happy
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks George. Emerald Dwarf Danios are a cracking little fish and they get noticeably bolder in a decent group - more of that green comes out as the numbers go up. Good to hear they've grown on well for you. - Tropical Fish Co

About Red Breasted Cichlid, Green (Laetacara Aequidens dorsigerus) - Cichlid Fish for Sale UK
fish arrived and were in very good health after two days in my tank all the fish i received settled down and started to explore there new surroundings they swam along the full length of the tank for two days then settled in there part of the tank they were happy in, the tank is very large at 300 gallons and fully land scaped and is densely planted which probably is the reason they took a while to feal at ease. they have groan quickly since i have had them and are doing very well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you George, that's a genuinely useful account. A fully landscaped, densely planted 300 gallon is an enormous amount of world for a new fish to work out, and two days of exploring before they picked a spot is exactly what you want to see - Laetacara are naturally shy and fish that bolt straight into the open usually aren't confident, they're stressed. Sounds like they've landed somewhere they'll do very well. - Tropical Fish Co

About Cosby / Opaline Three-Spot Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus) – 3–7cm & XL
Healthy and doing well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you Tracey. Cosby gouramis are a calm, easygoing fish and the blue mottling deepens noticeably over the first few months once they're properly settled, so it should look better still by spring. Good to hear it's doing well. - Tropical Fish Co

About Blue Paradise Fish (Macropodus opercularis)
Healthy and going well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks Tracey. Blue Paradise Fish are tougher than they look and happy in cooler water than most tropicals, which makes them a good pick for an unheated or lightly heated tank. Just keep an eye on the males with each other and with anything long-finned. Glad this one's settled. - Tropical Fish Co

About Gold Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus)
Healthy and doing well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you Tracey. One thing worth knowing with Gold Gouramis - they're labyrinth fish, so they'll come up and gulp air at the surface now and then. That's completely normal breathing, not a sign anything's wrong with your water. Glad this one's settled in. - Tropical Fish Co

About Albino Bronze Cory (Osteogaster aenea)
Healthy and doing well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thanks Tracey. Albino Bronze are about the easiest Cory there is, and they're far more active in a group of six or more - they'll forage out in the open instead of tucking themselves away at the back. Glad it's doing well. - Tropical Fish Co

About Rainbow Cichlid (Herotilapia multispinosa)
Healthy and doing well
Reply from Tropical Fish Co
Thank you Tracey. Rainbow cichlids are one of the more peaceable Central Americans, and the colour really arrives once a pair forms and starts holding a bit of territory - worth watching for. Glad they're doing well. - Tropical Fish Co
