Hymenochirus live in water but breathe at the surface. Keep that route unobstructed and provide a secure cover with access to air beneath it. These are dwarf frogs, distinct from the larger Xenopus clawed frogs; check the named animal rather than choosing by colour alone.
Browse aquatic amphibiansFood reaching the tank is not proof that a slow-feeding frog received it. Arrange suitably sized meaty foods and, where needed, careful target feeding. Confirm whether the actual frogs accept prepared food. A dedicated setup often makes feeding and observation easier than sharing with fast or predatory fish. The range includes boettgeri, curtipes and less precisely identified sp. offers.
