Check the species’ need for a suitable sand bed and sleeping area before choosing the layout. Leave practical swimming space and use a secure cover. Canary, Tail-Spot and Pastel-green offers can differ as adults; a young colour or size is not the whole stocking decision.

Assess the fish’s own diet and its compatibility with desirable invertebrates as well as any unwanted animals. Arrange regular appropriate food and observe feeding competition. A reputation for eating a pest does not establish that this fish will solve a problem or leave every other reef animal alone.
