Tanichthys micagemmae
18–25°C · pH 6.2–7.8 · 60L

A fast, peaceful shoaling Devario for mature aquariums with open swimming space, planted cover and cooler tropical water. Best kept in a group of six or more.
Adult size is the maximum length this species reaches at full maturity (scientific sources). The livestock you receive will be younger and smaller — pick a size variant above for the actual shipping size. Photos are AI-enhanced, so the animal may show subtle colour or marking differences.
Devario sondhii
Fireline Devario are a shoaling species — they need 6+ to feel safe and show their full colour. Larger shoals stay calmer, eat better, and look stunning.

Maintain these water conditions for optimal health and vibrant colors
Fireline Devario (Devario sondhii) is a lively small shoaling fish for aquarists who want constant movement in the upper and middle levels of the aquarium. Its slim body, metallic sheen and orange-red side line make it stand out best as a group rather than as a single fish.
This is a peaceful, active species, but it is not a slow display fish. Give it swimming room, clean well-oxygenated water and a secure lid. It suits mature planted community aquariums where tank mates are calm but not delicate enough to be unsettled by fast danio-style movement.
| Scientific name | Devario sondhii |
|---|---|
| Common name | Fireline Devario |
| Adult size | About 4-6.5 cm |
| Minimum aquarium | 75 litres; longer tanks are better for a shoal |

| Temperament | Peaceful, fast and social |
| Diet | Quality flakes, micro pellets and small frozen foods |
Keep Fireline Devario in a group of at least six. A longer aquarium lets the shoal turn and accelerate naturally, while plants around the sides and back give security without blocking the swimming lane. Moderate flow, good oxygenation and regular maintenance are more important than a complicated layout.
The species is often happiest in cooler tropical conditions, so avoid running the aquarium too warm for convenience. Stable water in the 18-24°C range is a sensible target. Use a tight lid because active Devario can jump, especially during feeding or when startled.
Feed small portions that the group can clear quickly. A fine community flake or micro pellet works as the staple, with frozen cyclops, daphnia, brine shrimp and similar small foods added for variety. Several light feeds are better than one messy feed in a fast shoaling aquarium.
Good tank mates include similar-sized rasboras, danios, white clouds, peaceful barbs, small loaches and Corydoras that enjoy comparable water. Avoid slow long-finned fish, very timid species, predators and any aquarium where the fast top-water movement would cause stress.
