Clarias

The named Clarias batrachus and albino offers are not small community clean-up fish. Walking catfish become large, powerful predators; assess the adult footprint, filtration, feeding and every proposed companion before choosing a juvenile. Albino describes a colour form, not a smaller adult or a safer tankmate. Discuss the exact stock if identity or eventual housing is uncertain.

Walking catfish breathe air and can leave an insecure aquarium. Close escape routes around lids, cables and pipework while retaining access to the water surface. Air breathing does not replace clean, filtered water. Arrange feeding and handling so the fish can be observed safely, and assess the risk to smaller animals rather than using a peaceful label or shared tank size as a compatibility guarantee.
