Blue Diamond Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) is a pale blue-silver domestic angelfish strain with the tall body, long fins and calm, gliding movement that make freshwater angelfish such a classic centrepiece fish. This listing covers the Blue Diamond size range grouped under SKU N637 and its sister variants, so choose the current size from the selector and check live availability before planning a group.
Although the Blue Diamond colour form is a selected aquarium strain, its care should still be based on Pterophyllum scalare: a warm, stable, planted freshwater setup with height, visual cover and peaceful tank mates that are not small enough to be swallowed. This is not a tiny nano fish. A young angelfish can arrive small, but the adult has a deep body and long fins, so long-term space matters more than the purchase size.

|---|---|
| Trade name | Blue Diamond Angelfish |

| Adult planning size | About 15 cm body length, with much greater height when fins are included; plan tall aquariums, not shallow tanks |

Give Blue Diamond Angelfish a tall, settled freshwater aquarium with open swimming space and calm structure. A tank around 100 cm long and at least 50 cm tall is a much better long-term home than a shallow display, because angelfish use their vertical profile and fin length as part of their normal movement. Use steady filtration, regular water changes and a secure lid.
A planted layout suits them well. Amazon swords, Vallisneria, broad-leaved plants, wood and shaded areas help create cover without blocking the whole swimming area. Avoid sharp decor that can catch trailing fins. Blue Diamond Angelfish show best in clean water with a darker background or planted contrast, but stability is more important than chasing a perfect look.
Angelfish are graceful, but they are still cichlids. They can be calm community fish when kept with suitable companions, yet a bonded pair may claim territory and defend a spawning site. Give them room to move away from one another and avoid crowding several adults into a small tank unless you are prepared to separate a pair that becomes pushy.
Good tank mates include peaceful medium community fish that are not fin nippers and not tiny enough to be eaten. Larger tetras, peaceful rasboras, Corydoras, bristlenose plecos, rainbowfish and calm dwarf cichlids can work when water needs overlap. Avoid tiger barbs and other persistent fin nippers, very small neon-sized fish with adult angelfish, aggressive cichlids, and fast feeders that leave angelfish stressed or underfed.
Feed a varied diet built around quality flakes or soft granules, with frozen or live foods such as bloodworm, brine shrimp, daphnia, mysis and finely chopped meaty foods. Angelfish learn routines quickly and can become enthusiastic feeders, so offer modest portions and remove uneaten food. Good feeding should build body condition without making the aquarium messy.
For small juveniles, use finer foods and feed small amounts more often. Larger fish can handle bigger granules and frozen foods, but still benefit from variety. A pale Blue Diamond strain looks best when the fish is unstressed, well fed and kept in clean water rather than under harsh lighting or poor filtration.
Only add this angelfish to a mature, cycled aquarium with stable temperature and matching water chemistry. Float the sealed bag to equalise temperature, then acclimate gradually. Keep lights low at first and avoid heavy feeding on arrival day. Watch breathing, balance, fin posture and appetite during the first week.
If the product is out of stock, use the care information to prepare the tank before the next supplier update. When livestock is available, orders are packed for the weather and sent by UK live-animal courier. Eligible live-fish deliveries are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee, and first-time customers can use WELCOME10 where the code is available at checkout.
Choose Blue Diamond Angelfish if you want a showy but elegant freshwater centrepiece for a planted community aquarium. It is best for keepers who can provide height, warm stable water and sensible tank mates. It is a poor fit for cramped nano tanks, fin-nippy communities, shrimp-breeding tanks or aquariums built around very tiny fish.
