Confirm the newt behind the trade name
The selection keeps the unspecified and Gold labels separate. Neither a colour name nor “spec.” settles the exact species or its adult length. Ask for the identity and current supplied size, then plan adult accommodation with secure covers and easy access to the surface.
Ask about a named newtKeep the enclosure cool and feeding deliberate
Check the selected newt’s temperature requirements before using an aquarium heater. Provide suitable aquatic retreats and a shallow rest or haul-out option. Offer appropriate newt foods directly enough to confirm feeding; fish may nip the newt or become prey.
