The Green Laser Cory (Corydoras sp. CW009) is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Corydoras species in the hobby. A vivid emerald-green iridescent stripe runs from snout to tail, catching the light as the fish forages along the substrate. This laser-like stripe gives the species its common name and makes it instantly recognisable among the hundreds of known Corydoras forms.

The CW Number System
CW009 is part of the Corydoras World numbering system used for undescribed species. Many Corydoras are known to science but have not yet received formal taxonomic descriptions. The CW system gives each distinct form a reference number, allowing hobbyists and scientists to identify and discuss them accurately. CW009 was originally collected from Peru.
Substrate Matters
Like all Corydoras, the Green Laser Cory has sensitive barbels that are used to sift through the substrate for food. Fine sand is the ideal substrate — rough gravel can damage the barbels and lead to infections. A well-maintained sand bed with driftwood and live plants creates the perfect environment for these fish to display natural foraging behaviour.
Tank Mates
Peaceful with all community fish. Compatible with tetras, rasboras, and other Corydoras. Best kept in groups of 6+. See also our Skunk Corydoras, Adolfo's Corydoras, and Sterbai Corydoras.
